Nicolas Dromer

Manufacturer Périnet and Nicolas Dromer have just created a so-called “baroque” horn from a traditional Périnet Nicolas Dromer horn base.

This project was sponsored and funded by the Foundation for the Outreach of the Musical Horn (FRTM), foundation chaired by Madame Sophie de Laporte, major supporter of the IMD.

This instrument will allow musical hunting horn players to blend into musical ensembles or to sound as a soloist, thanks to its tones giving the ability to play in six different keys (A, Bb, C, D, Eb and F) and thus access works from the classical repertoire or to create pieces with new sounds.

Of course, our work and our wish focused on the desire to keep the style and the soul of a hunting horn, despite the different heights and intonations of the tonality of D, known and impregnated in our horn players ears...

Currently creating an orchestral project on a national and international level, the IMD will soon invite you to hear the feats of this new instrument with Nicolas Dromer as soloist and the Horn Ensemble of the Dromer Musical Institute composed of its prestigious players.
